Who We Are

The people, the mission, and the vision behind Americas Trading Hub

Our Story

The Americas Trading Hub was founded on a straightforward premise: the nations of the Americas have more to gain from working together than from working in isolation. Our continent spans from the Arctic tundra of northern Canada to the windswept tip of Patagonia. It holds some of the world largest reserves of freshwater, arable land, energy resources, and mineral wealth. It is home to twelve of the world twenty largest economies. And yet, for decades, intra-continental trade remained a fraction of what geography and demographics suggested it should be.

ATH exists to change that equation. We are a membership organization, an advocacy body, a trade facilitation network, and a platform for cultural exchange, all organized around the simple belief that the Americas should trade more with itself.

Our members include small agricultural cooperatives in Costa Rica, technology firms in Vancouver, media companies in Bogota, financial institutions in Miami, and everything in between. What connects them is not their size or their sector, but their conviction that the future of this continent is best built together.

Our Mission

Our mission is to reduce friction, build trust, and create opportunity across the full geography of the Americas. We pursue that mission through four main areas of work.

First, we connect people. Trade happens between people before it happens between companies or countries. ATH events, networks, and digital platforms are designed to put the right people in the same room, whether that room is in Miami, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, or Kingston.

Second, we certify quality. The Americas Products and Made in the Americas programs give consumers and buyers a reliable signal of provenance and quality. These marks take time and rigor to earn, and that rigor is their value.

Third, we advocate for policy. Trade barriers, customs procedures, regulatory differences, and currency challenges all create friction that costs money and delays growth. ATH works with governments across the region to identify and reduce these friction points.

Fourth, we educate. Business literacy, trade knowledge, digital skills, and cross-cultural competence are all assets that our member nations need in abundance. ATH educational programs, from webinars to in-person academies, are designed to build those assets.
